Everything's ok
An intimate conversation about the future.
Project Summary
"Everything's OK" is a short independent film I created for my Character Animation class at the SMFA at Tufts. For our final project, we developed a short animation based on an audio selection, designing characters and a space to bring the audio to life.

This film practices developing and grounding characters in a tangible space. It follows an intimate conversation between two close friends, using their subtle interactions and the environment to communicate with the audience.

My goal was to capture the nuances of conversation, leveraging characters' bodies and their surroundings to convey interactions. This made it one of my most challenging projects, as dramatic action scenes clearly display emotions through grand gestures, while intimate scenes require subtler communication. Overall, this project was a rewarding opportunity to explore the dynamics of subtle communication.

Key Revision Notes:

-
Pacing is quite fast? Important to decide how to give certain scenes breathing space
-
Consider the weight of words/phrases and how best to frame and time these line -> edit dialogue timing
-
Too many cuts make it difficult for the audience to follow. Additionally breaks the 180 rule in film
-
How do you smoothly bridge the angle change between the backside of characters to the front?
-
Consider how the characters engage with their bodies to communicate. What nuanced actions?
